Meet Our Instructors
Dr. Dana Evans-Semmel
DMD
Dr. Evans-Semmel received her dental degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. She has been licensed dentist in North Carolina and Pennsylvania for 20 years. She has worked both in private practice and as a faculty member at Cape Fear Community College. At CFCC, she has educated both dental assistant and dental hygiene students through clinical and didactic courses. These courses have included medical emergency management, local anesthesia, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and nitrous oxide certification. She is a graduate of the CFCC Teachers Academy and completes annual training in teaching methodologies. In addition, she has provided continuing dental education to licensed dentists and hygienists through AHEC, the NC Dental Hygiene Association (NCDHA), and the Cape Fear Hygiene Association. She is a member of the ADA, ADHA, NCDS, Cape Fear Dental Study Club, and the NC Association of Dental Hygiene Educators (NCADHE). She is certified in BLS/CPR and ACLS. She is also a certified American Heart Association CPR/BLS instructor.
Summer Carroll
EMT-B, CNA
Summer Carroll is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) who obtained her education through Cape Fear Community College. She will complete her Associates Degree in Emergency Medical Science (Paramedic) in May of 2023. She has completed certification in ACLS, AMLS, PALS, and PHTLS. She has experience working at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in the Emergency Department, post-operative recovery unit, and adult surgical patient floors. Summer is also an American Heart Association certified CPR Instructor.

Dr. Brady J. Semmel
DMD, MD
Dr. Semmel received his dental degree at the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed a General Surgery Internship and his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He has been a private practice Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon for 20 years who has been certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He is licensed to practice both medicine and dentistry in North Carolina.
