COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course will satisfy the new course required by the North Carolina Dental Board on Substance Abuse and Mental Health for License Renewal for the 2 year cycle of 2024 for Dentists (21 NCAC16R.0206) and Hygienists (21 NCAC161.0206)
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Dentists, Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants, anyone with an interest

Speaker: Dr. Latonya Lee Niang edD LCADC CCS SAP
Dr. Niang is an internationally certified advanced practice alcohol and drug counselor and an internationally certified clinical supervisor. She is licensed to practice in NC, KY, TX, and OH. She currently serves as the Program Director of the Human Services Addiction and Recovery Studies Associate of Applied Science at Cape Fear Community College. She is a graduate of Elizabeth City State University and The University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Learning Objectives:
This course is designed to fulfill the 1 hour required CE course for dental professionals to learn about how stress, anxiety, environmental factors, and burnout can lead to Substance Abuse. Mental Health wellness tactics will be discussed. Steps to prevent, identify, and ways to get help will be listed in this program.
